Every year, we get the opportunity to be part of something really special.We attend two yearly trip with Poof Teen Center. One is an end of the year trip and the other is an end of the school year trip. Some years, we travel across the United States. Other years, we travel internationally. These trips give us experiences that we never even dreamed of. Traveling shows us how much there is to learn beyond our everyday lives.
The only thing is, the trips aren’t free. We knew our mom was not able to cover the cost of everything and we wanted to help. Not just with the trips but the little things we loved. I love sneakers and my sister loves all things beauty. From her hair, nails, and clothes. If we had our own money, we wouldn’t have to hear our mom say, you have to wait until I get paid. Sameli’s Sweet Treats solves that problem for us. We wanted to help pay our own stuff. Not because we had to, but because we wanted to.
Before Sameli’s Sweet Treats, we had a soap company. We got bored with it real soon. We started looking into fundraising ideas for kids, but we didn’t want to just ask for donations. We wanted to build something. Something we could be proud of. That’s how Sameli Sweet Treats in Durham, NC was born.
We didn’t just want to start any business. We wanted something that felt like us.
